歌詞と旋律の調和
本日の引用は、昨年、飛行機の中で見た映画Music and Lyrics (ラブソングができるまで)より。
結局DVDを買ってしまった。
A melody is like seeing someone for the first time.
The physical attraction. Sex.
But then, as you get to know the person, that's the lyrics.
Their story. Who they are underneath.
It's the combination of the two that makes it magic.
人間に例えるならば、旋律がルックスで歌詞が性格か。
そして歌詞と旋律の調和により奇跡が生まれる。
子供が生まれてからというもの、
せいぜい友人の結婚式の余興向けにうけ狙いの曲を作るくらいで、
まじめに作詞作曲をやっていない。
Music and Lyricsを見ると少し創作意欲がくすぐられるが、
1カ月くらいインドの山奥にこもらないと何も作れないだろうな。
