【こぼれ話】買い物に出て「迷子」に＝タイ女性が２５年ぶりに帰郷 （AFP＝時事） 10日14時36分 【ドゥソンギョ（タイ）１０日】タイで、買い物に出た際に行く先の違うバスに乗ったばかりに２５年間、家に戻れなくなった７６歳の女性が、このほど、やっと帰郷することができ、家族や孫たちと涙の再会を果たした。 　７人の子供を持つタイ南部、マレーシアとの国境地帯のナラシワト県に住むベウラヘンさんは２５年前の１９８２年、いつものように国境を越えてマレーシアへ買い物に出掛けた。しかし、ベウラヘンさんは帰りに間違えてバンコク行きのバスに飛び乗ってしまった。 　ベウラヘンさんはマレー語の方言しか話せなかったために間違いを伝えることができず、そのままバンコクに行ってしまった。タイ語の読み書きができないべウランへさんは、バンコクでまた間違ったバスに乗り、今度はチェンマイに着いてしまった。チェンマイで５年間、物乞いをして暮らした後、８７年に中部の県のホームレス・センターに送られた。警察は家族に、交通事故で死亡したのだろうと話していた。 　同センターで２０年近くを過ごしていたが、先週、べウランへさんの故郷のナラシワト県から、ホームレス問題を研究している学生３人が同センターを訪れた。べウランへさんが学生の前で歌を披露したところ、学生たちにはマレー語の方言であることが分かった。 　べウランへさんは学生にこれまでの経緯を話し、故郷にはマレーシア人の夫と７人の子供がいることを伝えた。故郷に連絡が行き、６日に家族が迎えに来た。２５年もかかった買い物の後にやっと家に帰り着いたべウランへさんは、子供や孫と抱き合って喜んだという。

この方は、俺が19になったときに、バスを乗り間違えてバンコクへ行き、またバスを間違えてチェンマイへ。チェンマイで物乞いをして5年。その後ホームレスセンターで20年近く。マレー語の方言しか話せないということだけで、長い時間彷徨ってしまった。

この記事を読んで、同情の念を禁じえないわけだが、多くの人生も似たようなものではないか...という思いがした。

何かの誤りや目論見の違いで、ひょんなことから、ひょんな話しにのってしまう。そこで、また間違って、予測できない事態に陥る。人生は、常に予想不可能であり、自分の意志とは無関係に、彷徨っていく。この方の場合は、マレー語がネックだったわけだが、人生における目的地到達の阻害要因は、山ほどある～経済的状況、家族環境、トラウマ、コンプレックス、過剰な自信etc。

何が正しくて、何が誤っているのか？は判らないが、予想不可能な未来に向かって、全力を尽くしていくしかない。この女性は、25年間かけて、目的の地にたどり着いたが、俺のほうは、まだ、何処にあるかも分からず、旅を続けている。
