文星芸大付属の野球部員が逮捕された。

かつて、駒大苫小牧で3年生の野球部員が、卒業式の後飲酒喫煙したため、何の関係もない1～2年生チームは春の甲子園大会を辞退し、監督は辞任をした。

また、明徳義塾は、喫煙をした一年生に対し、上級生が暴力を振るったということで、夏の甲子園大会出場を断念している。

これらは、不祥事かもしれないが、刑事事件ではない。今回の事件は、被害者は小指、鼻骨、胸骨などを骨折させられていて、この野球部員が、この暴行事件に主体的に関与しているとの容疑がかかっている。にもかかわらず、文星芸大付属は、お咎めなしで、無事に甲子園出場を果たした。

高野連の処置方法に関しての方針は、一般人には、理解し難い。

元々、部員の中に不心得者がいたとして、だからと言って、出場辞退を強いるというのは、どういう教育的配慮に基づくものであろうか？その本人が、出場不可となり処罰されれば良い話であって、チームが出場を取りやめ、連帯責任をとる必要などないのではないか？

この連帯責任というのは、上級生が下級生をいじめるときに、よく使う手である。一人の不始末があったときに、下級生全員を正座させたり、殴ったりする、陰湿な行為。また、江戸時代の連座の刑も想起させる。

僕の記憶では、運動部の部室には大抵灰皿があったような気がするし、高校生くらいになると酒飲んだり、タバコ吸ったりするのではないか？普通。（違うの？）

何故高校球児だけ、純粋無垢でなくてはならないのか、理解に苦しむ。大体、野球部って、一番ワイルドな連中が集まるので、そんなに純粋無垢であるはずがないのでは？　そういうルールは、ボーイスカウトの全国大会なんかで、適用すればよろしい…と思うのだが。
